Dear Colleagues,
Since the beginning of July we have had an accelerated growth of Corona infections in Italy (Corona incidence number approximately doubling every week; so the incidence number has risen from value 8 on July 1 to 39.8 today).
So for our event at the beginning of September we probably have to expect again a much higher number of corona infections than today, and as another result, there might be also, as an additional problem, again much stronger bureaucratic regulation attempts with regard to using flight travels etc. back from Italy.
Therefore, we have decided to change the DSD/SEAA 2021 conference event into a fully virtual event, so no hotel or flight bookings are necessary for you!
In the next few weeks those who made a full registration will be reimbursed with the difference between the two registration fees: 530 Euro - 350 Euro=180 Euro.
We waited the maximum possible before resigning from the idea of a "physical" event but as you can understand we took this decision with the aim of preserving the health of everybody and to avoid a potential and involuntary diffusion of the pandemic.
We hope to see all together next year in Gran Canaria 2022 and certainly we will give you an appointment to all of you in one of the next editions of the conference to be held in Sicily!
